Temporary electrical power

In pursuit of excellence….

Showbitz are now very proud to be one of the first of a few event companies to be registered with the electrical governing body, NAPIT, for the design, inspection and testing of temporary electrical power.

The business required a qualified “SPR” (Senior Person Responsible), which is a new qualification overseen by City & Guilds to satisfy the Temporary Power Regulations BS7909 as set out by the IET in accordance with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations BS7671.

We are pleased to say that we have three SPR staff. This has not happened overnight but over many years of experience, installing power for events to a high standard to ensure compliancy. Prior to this qualification existing, we had always insisted on certification of the installations to show compliancy with the current wiring regulations and therefore meeting requirements of the Electricity at Work act.

To obtain the membership we worked very closely with James Eade who authored the paper for the IET.

Showbitz continue to encourage safe practice of the use of electricity, and we would welcome hearing from anyone wanting advice in ensuring that their event is compliant.

It goes without saying that you will be in safe hands using Showbitz’s services for your power & generator requirements, whether that is for festivals, street food events, craft fairs, location filming, caterering, pub garden events, outdoor theatre, and even large scale indoor events that require electrical distribution.
